It’s great to see Orlando making INC’s top 10 list of Best Places in America to Start a Business. We were the only Florida city in the top 10, beating out Miami (#13), Jacksonville (#14) and Tampa (#24). INC evaluated many factors and displays their assessment through a cool interactive sliding scale.

What I found to be very cool was that Orlando was ranked #1 in job creation and #2 overall in population growth! That’s huge.

We also ranked #10 in net new businesses created – that’s more Orlando Entrepreneurs!

While our venture funding secured is still on the lower end of the spectrum (myself and many others are working to change that), I have always found Orlando a great place to start and grow a business. I also have to comment that quantity of jobs isn’t always as good as quality. While many of our jobs are in the hospitality industry, we also have several industries that Orlando is taking the lead in such as: simulation, defense, space-tech, gaming and others. I’m excited for what the future holds for Orlando, and Orlando Entrepreneurs.

This ranking from INC is great news. Keep rocking Orlando. People are taking notice!
