DESCRIPTION:Meet the CEO and CTO of PowerDMS – an Orlando-based SaaS company with a passion for helping organizations grow trust\, integrity and accountability between themselves\, their employees and the communities they serve. \nHeath Hensley is the Chief Technology Officer at PowerDMS\, a SaaS company providing high-trust organizations a solution to manage and share crucial content. Since 2001\, the PowerDMS software has helped customers simplify how they create\, track\, and attest to policies\, training\, and industry standards. Over 3\,000 customers trust PowerDMS to help them reduce liability\, drive accountability\, create corporate efficiencies and improve safety. \nIn 2004\, while pursuing his degree in computer engineering from the University of Central Florida\, Heath joined the PowerDMS team. He was the third employee. As co-creator of the software\, Heath is credited with the early design and development of fundamental features essential to the current application. \nAs the company has grown throughout the years\, so has the scope of Heath’s responsibilities. In his current role as CTO\, he is an integral member of the PowerDMS leadership team—leading multiple departments; guiding new SaaS product development; and overseeing the company’s internal technology infrastructure. \nHeath has a passion for technology\, helping others and exploring the world. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for PowerDETAILS\, the Governing Board for Summit Church\, and a Mentor at StarterStudio. \nA perpetually curious entrepreneur\, with a deep history in technology. Starting at a small town computer shop while working after school at age 13\, Josh learned to build PCs and install networks for local small businesses. After high school he started his full time career in IT at Hernando County Sheriff’s Office where he worked for twelve years. While at Hernando he led the migration from a legacy Unisys system to a PC based client-server network as well as implementing modern network infrastructure\, phone systems\, and CAD / RMS platforms. \nDuring his last few years at the Sheriff’s Office Josh identified the need for simplified\, paperless policy management by observing the challenges of law enforcement accreditation. As a programer he wrote the original code for PowerDMS. Over 10 years Josh transition from programer to CEO\, leading PowerDMS through its venture stage into the scalable growth company it is today. Throughout this time he championed its unique culture and innovative approach to compliance related document management. He is passionate about providing an open\, creative\, and fulfilling workplace with an unyielding commitment to customer experience\, employee happiness and building innovative products. \nAfter retiring as CEO of PowerDMS in 2018\, Josh now serves as a board member at PowerDMS and PowerDETAILS. He is active supporter of Orlando’s technology and arts communities\, folk philosopher\, dedicated father\, and aspiring chef.
