SUMMARY:SLICING PIE Author Mike Moyer in partnership w/ Orlando Entrepreneurs & Harvest
DESCRIPTION:This event is presented by Harvest: Simple Online Time Tracking Software (www.getHarvest.com)! \nStarterStudio is partnering with Orlando Entrepreneurs to host Mike Moyer\, author of Slicing Pie! Join us for a night of conversation around dynamic and fair equity models! \nCreating an unfair equity split with partners is not only one of the most devastating mistakes founders can make\, but also one of the most common. Conventional “fixed” equity models are the core problem\, yet they are still widely used. Dynamic equity models are becoming more popular because they allow founders too create a perfectly fair equity split while providing protection for all participants. This seminar will teach attendees a simple method for implementing a dynamic split and virtually eliminating equity disputes. Every company founder that plans to share equity needs to learn how to ensure fairness. \nKey Lessons: \nWhy conventional fixed-split equity models set founders up for failureHow to implement a dynamic equity model that is perfectly fair to all participantsWhat to do when partners or employees quit or get fired \nAbout Mike Moyer \nMike Moyer is a career entrepreneur who has started companies\, worked for startups\, and held senior management positions at established businesses. He is now the managing director of Fair and Square Ventures\, LLC\, a company that provides education\, software\, growth consulting and early-stage investments for startup companies and the founder of MosquitOasis\, which produces camping equipment. He is an adjunct faculty member at Northwestern University and the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. He is the author of several business-related books including The Slicing Pie Handbook\, Slicing Pie\, Pitch Ninja\, and Trade Show Samurai. He lives in Lake Forest\, Illinois\, just north of Chicago. \n@GruntFunds\, @MikeMoyer \nhttps://www.facebook.com/mikedmoyer \nhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/mikemoyer/
